The Process
Step 1: Room Makeover Consultation
- Measurements will be taken of the room size, furniture and window/door/closet
placements.
- We will discuss existing furnishings and accessories. What stays? What goes?
What can be reInvented?
- Photos will be taken of existing room to use as reference during the design
process.
- Color and style preferences - traditional or contemporary? Blues or reds?
Patterns or solids? Let's discuss your own personal style.
- Window and wall treatment options.
- What is the room's function? Do you need storage and/or require a kid-friendly
environment?
- Budget and timeframe concerns.
Step 2: Design Presentation
- After evaluating the measurements, photos and overall makeover discussions,
we will provide you with an overall color scheme presentation that will include
swatches of actual fabrics and wallcoverings.
- An electronic room layout will be produced based on actual dimensions. You will
be able to see how the completed room will look in the colors and fabrics
recommended.
- Photographs of accessories and furnishings needed to purchase.
- Finally, let's compare what you HAVE to what you WANT.
Step 3: Cost Estimate
- A detailed estimate will be provided, indicating purchases and labor required to
achieve the final look. This will include: new items, reworks of existing items and
labor contractors.
- Fees are based on hourly rates and cost of tangible items. Individualized
estimates are provided to clients for each room in it's entirety.
Step 4: Let's Get It Done!
- A timeline will be developed to work with your schedule. For example, we can
work towards a particular deadline and/or schedule labor to be completed to work
with your daytime routine.
- Selecting accessories, artwork and accent pieces can be very personal. We can
gain a great understanding of your personal style sense during the interview
process, allowing us to do the shopping for you, or we can shop together!
